Drive sprockets for 1955 40C

Post by woodchuck » Thu Mar 29, 2007 5:33 am

Ok, I am looking for the correct part number for the track drive sprockets for my father's 1955 40C crawler. I found a number in the casting that is TE235Y. I called a couple of local dealers and they find a number of TE235YT. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct number or not? I would like to purchase new sprockets but do not want to get the wrong ones.

You're going to love the price from Deere on that sprocket. Well, at least you can still get them.

That's great! When I looked them up on jdparts, they came up at $581 each. I think I'd like to talk to your dealer rather than mine.

I have would have to believe your dealer is making a big mistake. Not that I would tell him he is, but NNAATZ is right on the money. Last price I remembered off the top of my head is $485/each, and that is a few years ago. If he sells them to you for that price, take them and run before he figures out his mistake.

Okay, just to satisfy my curiousity, I called my local dealer, $611.77/each + freight depending on your time frame. I also did some checking online and came up with the same figure. I thought they were spendy when they hit $450, but WOW!

Are these, by any chance, the same as 420 sprockets?

OK, Thanks. I have a set of 420s in pretty good shape, but haven't decided if I want to let them go just yet.

thanks,

Guys,
I just ordered 2 of them. $175 each. I had my dealer confirm cost and also had him check the picture of the part in his catalog. He confirmed they are the drive sprockets for a 40C. If you want his contact info, I will provide it.
