I have a 440icd w/831 loader. The street pads are worn and most have wobbled loose. I have access to a set of tracks off a 420c dozer with grousers that are in good shape. Most loaders I see have the street pads. Besides tearing up more ground when you're turning with grousers on, is there any other disadvantages to running grousers on a loader? Thanks in advance.
PS. The 2-53 is still siezed. I'm giving it two more weeks of soaking in various oils and concoctions and if still no go, she's getting pulled.

Grousers on a loader crawler are extremely hard on undercarraige, rollers, steering clutches, etc. If you never operate in anything but soft sand, or pure mud, then you would be okay.

That makes sense. The extra weight of the loader plus you're generally doing alot more turning than you are when you're dozing. I'll stick with the street pads and re-bolt them. Maybe a little hard-facing on the wear edges.
