Copper Bushings in after market rollers

Post by Stretch » Mon Apr 02, 2007 6:27 pm

Does anyone see a problem with using copper bushings/shaft shim in the after market rollers? The original rollers were 1/2" mounting bolts. The after market are 9/16". I have turned 1/2 copper tubing to be a press fit in the roller. Everything seems to be snug. I was just wondering about the copper.

That is exactly what they do when using the 9/16" rollers on the 1/2" bolts. Only difference, is the ones they used to send with are steel, probably like conduit. I think there are just slightly too long so they crush when the bolts are tightened.

That sounds good. I am leaving mine about .040 to long so I can get a little crush.
