John Deere Yellow?
John Deere Yellow?
I bought some paint the other day to paint all the part of my 440 as I have it apart and was wondering how many color yellows did John Deere use? I bought the enamal paint from tractor supply and the can read JD yellow impliment spray however the paint looked like a neon yellow.
Not sure were to find the original JD paint color is Case or Cat yellow close to the same?
I guess this color might be the lawn tractor yellow?
Thanks in advance,

You can get the yellow you are looking for from the JD dealer. You have to look for the yellow used prior to 1992. Part number TY25679. If you have alot to paint you can get it by the gallon for $58.00. Individual cans are pricey.
Hope this helps.

If you go to this site, they have a pretty good collection of paint colors used by most of the big equipment manufacturers. They specialize in small spray cans so not practical if you're painting a whole crawler. They had the most complete paint collection and can at least get you going in terms of what color you're looking for. YTMag.com and other tractor parts houses seem to carry most of the popular color for around $60 a gallon.

If you ask at the dealer, you're looking for JD Industrial Yellow. JD Yellow is the bright yellow you see up against the green of ag equipment. It would make for one really odd looking crawler although everyone to their own tastes.

Found this link to DuPont color codes for various tractors. Might cause more confusion than help.
