I have just bought a 2010 crawler the serial number is missing. It has a diesel engine. There is a serial# tag on injector pump. It has an inside blade I don't know if that helps. Looking to find out year of this beast.

I went though this last year when I bought my 2010. Unfortunately on the early 2010 models they put the serial number on the engine block; since mine had a replacement engine the serial number for mine is now lost.
As Lavoy said, there are some things to help narrow it down. I was able to determine that mine is an early serial number due to the undercarriage components and some of the fuel delivery system components.

(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment
