61 blade question

Finally getting my 420 back together! Got the clutch housing mounted and side plate today. Also got the foot rest installed. Went to mock up the blade lift support (part that holds the top of the lift cylinder. The one that came off of it was badly mangled and the bottom cast piece that wraps the cross shaft.. that's another story all together.

Quest is this. Mount doesn't seem to want to seat properly and I'm assuming this is due to the piece of angle iron that is welded on top of the cross shaft. Should there be a piece of angle there or is this another 'modification' someone has added???


Having only dealt with this crawler and no others to look at I'm lost.

There should not be an angle iron on the crossbar, the dozer mount sits right on the crossbar itself.

Looks like the angle grinder and I are in for a good afternoon. Atleast it's nice and hot out .. and ofcourse it isn't sitting under a shade tree!

Should pick up my final drive tonight though.. Busy weekend but hopefully she'll be crawlin' before long!
