Well, if anyone can get them produced for under $20.00, put me down for 20 of them. I want to replace all of mine as i rebuild the rollers. 20 bucks or above, I will have to replace sparingly and only where necessary. As far as Deere is concerned. I refuse to pay $140.00 when they were $14.00. As big as Deere is I'm sure price pointing could be employed. I can't believe I've suggested a Walmart tactic , but I'll reuse the springs cast and manufacture my own before i spend 140.00 bucks a piece. As a business owner, I'm behind profit all the way, but this seems excessive.

In reading this thread I am a bit disheartened. I own a 4 roller 420 I was planning to go through the finals and rollers on. If I need the bellow seals, that amounts to $2240.00 plus tax and shipping. This is without even looking at the finals and the rest of the roller parts. Do the 350's have these same seals. I have been thinking of going to a 350 for awhile and this could be the push to do so. I realize all crawlers, especially in the area of the undercarriage are expensive to work on. My thought is, though, that if their reasoning is about the production cost compared to sales demand a newer machine might be in order.
Lucky,
I think Laoy could sell you new rollers for less than the cost of the seals if you're not worried about keeping everything authentic. You can find complete later 350 style roller on eBay new for $135 with the 1/2" bolt holes for the older crawlers.
This is a temporary setback for a few of us that are trying to do restorations. What these seals are is a fairly common looking face seal that in any other application sells for $7 -$20 retail. I'm just a bit peaved with Deere for taking advantage of a situation. I agree that businesses aren't charities but they shouldn't be crooks either.

It is even worse up here north of the 49 .Our local JD dealer even took on the Auburn clutch line so as to get parts two years ago.I hate to use the old 40c s as replacement parts are getting hard to find .But try finding parts for some of the other old crawlers and you will often be building your own .Digitup.
