Hi Nick-
I think I have some pics of scarifiers for the 2010 crawler. They're at home; I'll have to post them up a little later this evening if no one else has some handy.

Hi Nick-
I have attached a number of scarifier photos- they are from various JD machines. All the photos were scavaenged from the 'net (I wanted to know what they looked like for future reference also) so they aren't the best views or closeups. I like how the one scarifier is hed in place with the come-along

Scarifier from a 350
Scarifier on 450
Hope this helps!

Put on a new coat of paint and they look like the ones you get today .As Deere got into the 60s you could get two different scarfires those pictured were a non parallelogram unit .The parallelogram rippers were at a constant angle and heavier built .My friend had a parallelogram unit and they didnt get the clearance that the other unit pictured got me .Digitup.

Would newer scarifiers bolt directly to older crawlers like a 2010 (i..e. the bracket bolt holes and mounts are the same)?

Just to make things difficult Deeres changed at the G series .The old bolt pattern was changed and the PTO speed and direction was also changed .I cant help but think that parts were just too easy to interchange and they had to make them different.I put a ripper on one of my 550Gs and a winch on the other .The Gs didn't need either to balance up but the ripper is totally different in bolt pattern then the older machines .Also lighter and bulkier of the two options .If you have hard soil conditions than the ripper is a nice addition .If you are putting one on to go into sand or swamp then spend the bucks on a winch this will balance up the older machines better as well as pull you out of a bad spot .My little 350 D widetrack has a winch and I recommend that application 100%.My neighbor has a crawler loader with a ripper this is the better of the two options that he could have .I bought a 1010 dozer up north several years ago and it had a winch on the back and the 4 rippers were built into the back of the blade . The old guy I bought it from said that this was a dealer option and when I bought it it looked like it did the day he bought it .I sold that dozer on the ferry back from picking it up on Manitoulin Island .As I said earlier I owned a 1010 for 4 hours and didn't get to do more than load and unload it .I would put ripper teeth on the blade if I had the proper adapters for this application .That was a nice set up and it didn't stick out the back either.Should see if Lavoy could get those weld on ripper sockets it would be a cheap and handy option ..
