1010CA 3pt. Hitch Special Bolts

Post by wwattson » Sun Jun 10, 2007 2:56 pm

I'm in the process of putting the final drives and 3pt hitch quadrant back on the 1010 and realized that all of the original mounting bolts hadn't been in place when I removed it. The parts book calls out three different special bolts; T10319 (4), T10320 (4), and T10603 (2) for the ten bolts used. Anybody know what's so special about these bolts and what the work around is if you don't have them?

Thanks,
Bill Wattson

Probably nothing is special other than it is a grade 8 for strength at 5 1/2 or 6 7/8, these are alot of the same bolts that hold the swinging drawbar bracket in place. I added one on my 1010. The first ones went all the way through with a nut and then later a shorter bolt was used cause the hole was threaded. At least that was my experience.

I wish I could just see what one of these looks like. The threaded bushing is 5/8" x 11 TPI but the nut and beveled washer are 1/2". It looks like there is a should on the head end of the bolt and it passes all the way through the final drive so it what have to be about 7" long. Different part number are called out for top and ottom bolts.

Seems like they had 1/2" x 7" bolts when I pulled it apart but I don't believe they would be the correct bolts.

Lavoy, help me Mr. Wizard!!!!

Grade 8 bolts will work fine on that unit .We even use grade 8s to hold the drainage plow on the HD 21 B and it will produce 88000lbs tractive pull over 10 bolts of 1,1/4 inch size.I haven't broke any yet but I know a few plows have been pulled off with too much pulling on the front of them ! When you tighten those bolts re torque them to the max speck for that grade and thread .Deere removed the paint for factory install of ripper or wench and probably three point hitch applications from the seventy's to today on new stuff .I guess that way the bolts wont ever loosen but keep an eye on them anyway .Digitup.
