big idler swap?

any reason why one of the solid disk front idlers from, say for instance, a 350 fit, uh, maybe a 440? found several very old cracks on one of mine. not too happy about it. tend to push things a bit. any new crack might go all the way through...

somebody got one each they could stand side by side and compare?

could weld it although stress relieving it might be a real bear...

The idler brackets are different, and axle is quite a bit larger.
Cut the crack out with a torch or plasma cutter, and then weld it back shut.
