Gearmatic winch rebuild

Just an FYI, I am in the middle of restoring a Gearmatic 8A winch for a customer. After a day of phone calls, I have been able to find the replacment bearings for the maind drum and cross shaft, as well as the seal. They are kind of pricey, but at least they are still available.

Lavoy,

Did the bearings cross out to a Timkin or SKF or are they pretty much specific to the 8A Gearmatic?
