oil pressure on a 420c

Post by joe » Wed Nov 07, 2007 8:03 pm

:D hi everyone can anyone tell me if there is any where else on a 420c to get oil pressure other than the up side down oil filter housing. also what is involved with getting the pto to work does the shaft just slide in and a bearing cap over it or is there more to it than that?

Not sure what you mean by getting oil pressure, or why you don't want to get it out of the filter housing.
PTO is an attachment that just slips in the back cover, install 3 bolts and you are ready to go.

Lavoy[/quote] thanks for the reply lavoy . my oil pressure goes in to the stop engine zone after the machine runs awhile i would like to hook up a numbered gauge to see what the psi is on the numbered gauge. to see if something is getting in the gauge in the housing . i have ran this machine for an hour or so like this and thought it would have spun a bearing but no noise and still seems to run ok. also are the pto shafts readely available

Just add a T at the filter base to compare two gauges.

If the factory gauge shows the correct pressure at first, though, I would think the drop in pressure it's indicating is for real. A defective gauge usually shows lower or higher than correct pressure at all times.
