1010 Crawler Loader Engine Cowling

Post by ptrachte » Thu Nov 22, 2007 1:00 pm

I'm just fulla questions. Thanks for your patience. Does anybody have a clever way of getting the darn engine cowling off without pulling the loader off or removing the front nose-piece? Maked it kinda hard to work on the motor.

Hi.
Are you talking about the top engine cowling/cover??Mine comes off without any problems.I also have a 1010 loader.I just take the muffler off and I can pull the cover out.

Hood won't come off

Post by ptrachte » Thu Nov 22, 2007 9:22 pm

yes the hood on top of the engine. i take off the muffler, and the air cleaner. After that, the steel support from the loader prevents me from pulling off the cowling. It doesn't just slide out. What am i doing wrong?

Hi.
I'm not sure what your doing wrong??The loader doesn't make it very easy though. If I remember correctly, lift the whole hood till it hits the loader. Then pull everything forward as you gradually lift the front more. Hope this helps. Keith
