What type. kind of battery due you recomend for a JD mC crawler? 6v? 8V? IS there a battery that will fit int he battery holders nice? Let me know!

I personally do not believe in the 8 volt batteries, normally their CCA rating is about half that of a good 6 volt. Plus, an 8 volt battery needs 8.8 volts to charge fully, and the generator will not normally put that out.
Probably the biggest problem that occurs with the 6 volt batteries as far as not starting is inadequate batter cables. The cable to the starter should be #1 copper or better. If you use automotive type cables that are usually #4, they typically will not start well, especially in the cold weather.
