2010 reverse problem

Post by Ashell » Fri Dec 28, 2007 1:13 pm

My 2010 seems to have good power going forward in low and high but in reverse it will bog the engine till it quits. When it starts to bog I can shift to neutral and then back to reverse and it will be ok for a few seconds but then it stalls out again. I am working in a fair amount of mud but no more than 2 or 3 inches. I fist noticed a lack of power trying to back up a hill to park then the next time I got it out within a few minutes I tried to back drag some slop and it bogged. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Just for curiosity does high and low work correctly?
The reason I ask is it might be that one or the other clutch packs aren't releasing as they should be.

As far as I can tell it shifts from High to Low fine and when it first shifts into reverse it is fine for maybe 5 to 10 feet before it begins to bog.

Lavoy, I'm sure will know more. But, it sounds like one of the clutch packs are not releasing properly. If I had to guess it would be the low range clutch pack. Maybe a broke spring.

I would get a manual and go through the pressure check procedure to double check on the release pressures. Also, the reverse shaft runs on it owns bearings and are known to break or lose the bearings.

I think i figured it out When I pruchased the cralew I noticed the brake pedal was down and noticed it didnt work. while palying with it i also noticed that it would not brake to well on the left side. I adjusted the steering brakes following the manual and well sorta stopped after that neglecting the foot brakes. Bad move I suppose since with the depressed foot brake and new adjustment it allowed the brakes to work int the reverse direction. I pulled the foot pedal up and ta da my reverse is fine but I need to go back and actually do all my adjusments. Thanks again for the info but the problem was me not the machine :)
