Torque Tube? Reverser?

Post by lizrad999 » Sat Jan 05, 2008 10:49 am

The side of my torque tube is missing something. I have a place on the dash cowling for a reverser handle, and it looks like there may have been one there at one time, but the there are two gapping holes in the side of the torque tube and about 10 bolts screwed in slightly.
Do these holes have something to do with a reverser?
Does anyone have a picture they can post of what that side is supposed to look like?

Thanks in advance! 8)

I am assuming you are referring to a 430 or 440. If so, yes that is where the shifter rail mounts if it is a reverser crawler, or a cover plate if it is not.

Lavoy you are correct, it is a 440. Sorry. I guess I'll wait until I get the parts diagram before I try and figure out if this thing had a reverser or not, and if I can put one on it.
Thanks!

Reverser can be added, you will need the entire assembly out of a crawler that came with a reverser, plus the linkage if you do not have it .
