Is this a No. 61 dozer?

Post by dmlinton » Fri Jan 18, 2008 1:43 pm

Greetings!

Is that a No. 61 dozer in the picture below? It is off of my JD 40C.

It is pretty beat up and there are pieces missing to boot. I intend to rebuild it more or less to original specs so if anyone has detailed pictures of a compete dozer, I would be grateful if you could share them. There do not seem be many detailed pictures of these old crawler equipment floating about the Internet.

Thanks,
Dennis

Yes it is. You can order a parts manual from Deere, or you will sometimes find them on E-bay. I believe there is a manual on there right now.

I've got printed off versions of the parts manual from my local JD dealer and would be glad to scan and e-mail them to you. Just PM me your e-mail and I'll get it done on Monday.

They are hard to read hence I'll put them in PDF so there is little distortion. They are readable though and have really helped with my 61.
