might have a chance to buy a 1010 gas loader, Before I go to look at it I need some advice. It would be used primarily to load my single axle dumps at my gravel yard. So while speed of loading is not an overriding factor I do need to work at a resonable rate. It would also be used on occassion on jobsites for clean up.
My questions are; Would this machine be able to work at a reasonalbe speed? Does anyone know how high the bucket will reach? I have a 1010 gas dozer and it has adeqaute power but I have heard that as a loader the 1010 is underpowered. Any thoughts on that?
Any comments are apriciated. Terry

1010 LOADER
The book says the bucket will reach 10' 1.5" measuring from the cutting edge with the bucket bottom parallel to the ground which is also the hing pin height. The bucket will go down below ground 8" (again bottom of bucket parr to grd) With the bucket in the dumped position, the cutting edge is 8' 1". The weight capacity = "bucket pry out" is 8,500#, "lift (full height)" is 4,000#. The entire machine (not including any counter weights) is 9,350#, add 585# if it has the #35 Ripper on the back. Raising time is 6 seconds, lowering time is 4.5 seconds and dumping time is 1.5 seconds. I have a machine just like what you are looking at. I wish I could tell you how fast it is but I am still in the rebuilding stage on mine. The gas engine was stuck and the left side axle was in bad need of new bearing etc etc. The machine is pretty easy to work on and Lavoy has (or can get) just about any parts you may ever need.
