i was wondering if anybody knows where i could find the serial number on my 420c, just so i could find out the year.

Tag should be on the LH side of the center section, or on the LH side of the bellhousing.

Should be a metal tag riveted to the left side of center tube between transmission and engine. Will be about half way if 1st series--Serial #< 100001-- and on left side of bell housing if > 100001. If it is missing, you may never know.
