JD 350c undercarriage

Post by T.Stinnett » Mon Aug 08, 2005 1:03 pm

Hi, first time poster here and first time dozer owner. I've got a few questions about replacing the undercarriage on my 350C. first off, it's got the wide swamp tracks and seems to have low hours. At first I figured I would cut the pads down some to make it more all around functionally then I realized that though the pins, bushings and rails didn't seem worn there were hairline cracks in quite a few of them and a couple of bushings have broken up some. Now I am thinking I should just get a complete new track then that has me considering converting it back to the narrow gauge with new crossbars. Thats what I am leaning toward. The dozer is a '75 and the front crossbars are bolted on, well supposed to be bolted on- only one bolt on each side is still holding. Others are broken off or stripped out. So, how does that all sound? I'll need some parts and may end up with the wide stuff to sell. Any input is very appreciated - thanks, Tom
