That's awesome, I had looked for 420c vids on there but not seen any of them actually doing something.

I see you don't have the reverser. :P I'm sure I would go nuts after 2 minutes of having to shift that way. I'm not patient when a pile of stuff needs to be moved and like being able to change direction in a heartbeat.

yep it sure is a pain going from reverse to 1st without getting it into 2nd or 3rd. But im real happy with the machine overall.

You must have a straight pipe on it, it really barks.

Throwing track

Post by Lu47Dan » Fri May 02, 2008 4:54 pm

Randy , I moved my 420 about 100 feet to get it out of the way , and almost threw the track on the right side of it :( (broken final drive). Took about fifteen minutes to get it back over the idler . The first day I worked on the 420 after it was delivered I went and got a muffler for it . Your's sounds quite a lot like mine sounded . Even with hearing protection it got to me . I am figuring on getting the parts for mine in about two weeks . Will probably post video of it on it's first job around here , grading the front and side yards to repair the damage done when I put in new side walk and removed several trees . One big Black Spruce to go .
Glad to hear you got it fixed and got the trees out for your neighbor . :) Dan

Isn't it amazing how the older you get, the less you enjoy listening to the continuous bark of an open exhaust system? Don't get me wrong, I like pipes as much as the next guy, but these little buggers are sharp without a muffler.

Time to get the D6.

When I push a tree over I run into it with the blade fully raised for maximum leverage and then force the blade down while moving forward in 1st. Putting the machine's weight on the tree usually ends the fight in a hurry.
