The origional manual for my 40C says to use 10w oil in the air cleaner. NAPA guy said 30w should be fine (as that's the lowest weight he stocks). What do you think?

Should not really matter, maybe in terribly cold weather, it might not be the best. Just put in 10W-30, it will be bacically the same viscosity as straight 10W.
