Original type gauges for 440 IC

Post by JD440ICD2006 » Sun Apr 27, 2008 9:31 am

Who sells the most original looking gauges for the 440 IC? I specifically need an amp and temp gauge. I have a tach and an oil pressure gauge that are JD.
I have seen the many china knock offs with the big round bottom on the needle, no thanks. I am looking for gauges that are reasonably priced and also look more like the originals.

Either Deere or Jerry Trycka at Evergreen restorations are the only correct face Dubuque gauges available. Only catch is the original style 430/440 oil pressure gauges are no longer available from any source. Jerry makes up a mechanical gauge that looks right, but you will have to run an oil line to it.

Lavoy, thanks for that info!

If the "correct police" don't catch me  , I am more comfortable with a mechnical oil gauge than the original electric sending unit. It just seems like there is more room for error with the sending unit set up, maybe I am wrong :?:

I think they were okay, I have a replacement oil pressure gauge and sending unit from Deere on the 430W, and it works fine, just looks dorky.

Check my posting on July15, 2006. I have some of the part numbers for Stewart Warner gauges. They carry a full line of gauges that will work for your machine. They will not have John Deere on the face but the prices are much better than JD prices. I purchased two new gauges and they are very nice.
