Wanted JD gas engine.

Post by Dave Holt » Mon Apr 28, 2008 9:51 am

Looking for a complete 3 cylinder gas engine for a JD 300 tractor. I am told it is the same as a 1020,350, or a 300??? Thanks Dave

Those 135 c.i. gas engines are pretty easy to find. They often get pulled in good running condition and get replaced with 152 or 164 diesels. Besides what you already mentioned, the engines were also used in 380 forklifts. Seems the main thing is - finding one nearby to you. You might want to check out the classified for Country Folks - northeast edition - there have been several 135s in there recently - used and rebuilt. It is also quite likely that MacFaddens in Sharon Springs, NY has one (20 miles from me). I just saw two 1020s getting parted out there - but I didn't notice of gas or diesel. http://www.macfaddens.com/

Also -places like Marshals or Wengers in PA - but they're getting further way.

Called them first thing. As usuall they dont have it. I went up and looked around for myself but no luck. They have scrapped the whole yard that had the GOOD stuff in it. Since Eddy died the place is not the same.. Dave

Dave,
I hear ya!! In my quest for an early 350 crawler I learned that Susie had a half dozen up there! I had my son (lives in Stewartstown) check them out! :o He said that they were all either worn out or way overpriced  Oh well, I'm still looking. :!:
