Re: 1010c part number
If you have a Delco distributor - the proper coil is a Deere AR46064 (6 volt coil). Same coil the older two-cylinder gas tractors use with 6 volt systems.roofdog wrote:does anyone know the part number for the coil on the JD 1010 12 volt, mine is not sending a spark to my plugs, and i forgot my parts book 110 miles away,or if there is a place on line that has schematics of the 1010,thanks.
If you have a Wico or Prestolite distributor - the proper coil is Deere AT14385.
1010 needs the right coil or it won't start well in cold weather. Remember also that it's ususal since the resistor bypass is built into the special ignition switch.
1010 originally had several different coils -depending on the make of distributor - i.e. Wico, Delco, or Prestolite. Most became unavailable by 1980. Delco used Delco # 1115379 (Deere # AM373T) and this was also used with older two-cylinder tractors with 6 volt systems. This is probably the only one you can buy now. Now subs to Deere AR46064.
Wico used Deere # AT15611T which now subs to AT14385.
Prestolite used Deere # AT14385T (Prestolite # 200627).
