Blower fan
After running my 440 in this July heat made me wonder--is there a bolt -on blower fan for the Jimmy diesel. The heat coming off that sucker fan is unreal---I'm actually sweating just sitting down.
Found the skull to the mastodon in Hyde Park, youngest one ever found so far in the world in 2000.

Hi,
I recall such a fan, and *think* it was first offered on the 440's. It may have not been offered until the 1010, though. You know how wetware can be!
Regardless, there are pusher fans available - well, I ought to say I've seen them, one needs a scorecard to tell what is and is not available these days - for all of the older crawlers.
Heck, I ought to switch the one out on my 420 as well. It does get rather toasty when using the poor old girl....
Later!

Its interesting that none were available for the diesels.Lavoy wrote:Pusher fan was available for the gassers, I have an NOS pusher fan kit for mine if I ever get it done.
Lavoy
Do you think it would be possible to retrofit a pusher fan to a diesel?
If so any suggestions on where to look for such an animal?

I worked for a small excavation contractor way back in the early '70's.They had a 350D shovel dozer that they used to change the fan on. I don't know how it worked or what they did, whether they changed the whole fan or whether there was a way to change the pitch (possibly take blades and hub off pulley, reverse hub and blades, put hub and blades back on pulley ???) I have no clue whether the clearances would allow this or not

Adjustable fan blades..
Dave ! I worked many years on Dozers and the old Internationals..TD-7 and TD-8's had reversable fan blades...Summer/Winter...Each blade had a cross "T" in the hub with an individual spring on each blade...To change them to flow out front or flow back You just had to press down on the end of the blade and turn it 180 degree turn to change the air flow...Hope I was able to shed some light on the adjustable ones....Brian [ Creepy Crawler]
That was probably a Hubber fan they were quite common on Allis's and Internationals and for quite a while standard issue on both .I have bought parts for my Hubber fans on line from them directly .The 36 inch fans on my HD21B's are both Hubber and the only dealer in Canada is Deere Industrial .When I went to order parts from Deere dealer they weren't interested in getting the spring and pin kit for me .I went to Hubber and they sent the new spring kit our directly to me.And even showed me how to install the kit .They are great to deal with and Deere dealer got there butts kicked over it !!I would amagine that you should be able to get a fan for a Detroit as easy as a Deere but they may cost considerable $ .Digitup.
