440 crawler dozer blade

Post by thomas72 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 8:14 pm

I just bought a 440IC crawler that was used on fire brakes and does not have the dozer blade on it. I was wondering if anyone may know where I could find one in Georgia. I was thinking I might be able to make a 1010 blade work.

I have a blade that came off a 430 i'm almost sure it will work. It is not a deere blade but it is in good shape. Steven

Hi,

A blade from an older model won't directly fit onto a 440. The crossbars are different. They are square on the older machines and round on the 440's and larger diameter if I recall.

As far as *making* a 62 fit in place of a 63, perhaps someone else has experience to relate.

I once looked into what it would take to fit a 64 PAT in place of the 62 on my 420c and gave it up as being way more work than it was worth. Some of that work was related to having to beef up parts of the 420c to handle the extra weight of the 64 over the 62, though.

So, going the other way might be a whole lot easier.
