Seems like all i say is thanks, but thanks again i now have 25 and 26 lbs pull on revercer, but tractor no go.The revercer never worked before but at least i know it is going into gear now. I did compression test to see maybe it doesnt have power to move it, i got 110 on 1 and 120 on other, is that good or bad i dont know, they are close within 10 lbs fiqure not bad. When it was running and i shut her down she would diesel and then jump ahead now when i shut her down she still diesels but dont jump,so i figure it is not in gear .When i shifted it would make a lttle noise and not shift easy so i would lower gas go to different gear bring it back and it would go in easier.this is more info then i first started with, but im just reaching. Thanks again john

What happens if you put a load on it after it starts moving? Put the blade close to the ground against a really big tree and push against it. If it spins tracks or stalls the engine, everything is in proper engagement. If it stops moving with the engine still running, something is slipping.

Are you sure it is not the engine clutch?

Look up the part about adjusting clutch free travel, make sure the clutch is able to engage fully.

Did you check the pedal free travel?

You can get aftermarket replacement parts from Lavoy.

yes i checked free travel about 1 in .I was told that if u look into transmision tru filler hole and if there was no movement ,the main clutch was gone.I put tranny in gear and let out the clutch there was no movement that i could see, also i opened up access hole where u adj steering levers and there was no movement in there . so i guess i need to do clutch.U say lavoy has parts for 440ic clutch what is the plate that usually wears out called.Wondering if i should start another link when i start to replace clutch, im sure i will need help, thanks john

Sounds like you are right about the clutch being gone. The part is called the clutch disk. It is sandwiched between engine flywheel and a pressure plate. You also need to check these other 2 parts, not necessarily replace them, but check them for flatness and broken or weak springs or worn out fingers in the pressure plate.

It is also wise to replace the throwout bearing (behind pressure plate) and pilot bearing (center of flywheel), even if they look good.

I would have the flywheel ground, and put in an engine clutch kit, then you are likely done for as long as you will own the crawler.

Engine clutch kit is $210, includes pressure plate, clutch disc, and throwout bearing. Pilot bearing is $15, gauge to set the assembly is $25, also does steering clutches.
