I'm looking for a replacement front idler for my 1010. The flange is broken on mine. I'm considering welding rings on until I find another one. Has anyone tried the ring trick? If so, how did it work for you?

If you find one for that, better take a bunch of them at that price. NOS is $300 with bushings.

$300 for a new-old-stock idler is a bargain. Our local tractor-junkyard gets $300 each for used, highly worn idlers.

NOS is an acronym for "NEW OLD STOCK" So most likely that would price would be for a new one . Dan

Tools are to men as shoes are to women , you can never have too many !!
Used diesel engines are an adventure any way you look at them !!

Thanks, I wondered what the meaning of that was. That sounds like a good price for a new idler.
