Just purchased a jd 1010 and I love it. Have never had a track loader before. I have a small problem

I need a jd 1010 radiator and fan. Serial # 11606. The stick hit the fan and the fan hit the radiator - nuff said. Any helpers ?
Also, a quick question. There was a cooler (jerry rigged) mounted in front of the radiator

Haven't traced it yet, but anyone know offhand what it is.

The cooler is the reverser cooler. On early crawlers it was seperate, on later crawlers, it was in the radiator. If yours is correct, then you have an earlier crawler.
I have a used radiator, no new ones available. I think fans are obsolete, may be able to figure out a replacement, but would need to know diameter, bolt center, center hole and such.

The rad in my 1010 is in pretty rough shape and I was thinking of having it re-cored. Have you had this done Lavoy?

On the 1010's, that is your only option other than used. I quit recoring the two cylinder radiators when the new complete radiators became available.

Bill,
I just had the radiator on my 1010 crawler loader recored last February and it cost $385.00. Mine had the reverser cooler built in. The shop said they could not get the exact core thickness to match what was on it so they did mine 1/8" thicker than what was in it. I cannot be sure that what was in it was the correct thickness but I just depth mic'd what they put in and it is 2.350" thick. I hope there was more then 1/8" clearance between the fan and the radiator. Should find out this winter when I reassemble. Hope I don't have any surprises!!

Lavoy
boy did I open a can of worms!
the fan I took off is a 6 blade, 1" pilot hole, 1 1/4" center to center mounting holes, 14.5" diameter.
I found a similar fan on Yesterdays Tractor Co. - same measurements except 14" diameter, part # AM2840T for models 420 and 430.
I called the local JD parts, the original fan was 4 blades !!!!
I'm tempted to order the fan from YTC
Any ideas ?
thanks

I stock that fan, I have put many of them on the two cylinder crawlers. They move quite a bit more air and work great.

Got the rad repaired for $65.
Only had to cut off 1 tube - all the rest were repaired.
Got the fan today via UPS from Yesterday's Tractor for $53.
Now if I just had it all put together
Will install the fan as a pusher from the engine to the rad.
Thanks for everybody's help.
