MC Final Drive Seal

Post by PM49MC » Wed Oct 01, 2008 5:09 pm

I am trying to get the outer oil seal on the final drives, right behind the sprocket. The JD Deere that I used to deal with, is no longer. I am dealing with a JD dealer 45 miles away. The original part # of the seal is AM2773T. The first seal I got, wasn't even close. I called back, and they told me it should be seal # AH62281. I checked on the JD parts site and it also said #AH62281. I got the seal and after quick inspection tonight, it does not look right. It is steel in the center and a rubber lip seal on the outside. The original seal was a lip seal that installed in the Quill# M55T and then slid over the output shaft. Am I missing something? Does this seal install differently? Thanks for any help!
