I need to have my tracks re-done (MC) - I have a few questions:
Are new pins and bushings available only from JD?
How much are new pins and bushings?
How much should it cost to have new pins and bushings pressed into the tracks (incl remove old ones)? (labour only)
Are new pads available anywhere - from JD or other source?
MC and 40c track parts are interchangeable?
Thanks for reading

I have found the guys at Wengers to be well meaning but a bit uninformed when it comes to the older crawlers. To Lavoy's point, the price sure looks like the aftermarket 350 stuff which is fine if you can find the 350 sprocket rims and have somebody that knows what they're doing cut the rims off your sprockets and weld them on.

A farmer near me charges $300 per track to either turn the existing pins and bushings, or install new ones (labor only). Labor runs a little higher if any pins and bushings have to be welded in. He bought our small OTC track press when our Deere dealership went out of business.
I had a surprise a little while ago. I bought a Deere 420 crawler in Michigan. Tracks on it have new pins and bushings, and it also came with an extra set of tracks - also with new pins and bushings. The guy told me he did it himself - with his log splitter! I think I'd have to see it to believe it, but the tracks certainly DO have new pins and bushings - and they aren't loose. I never asked him where he bought the parts. He said he made some sort of adapter that enabled him to use his log splitter as a track press. Like I said, I didn't see it done, nor did I see his log splitter. I used to get stuck doing track work when things were slow, and hated it. Very boring and noisy work - and - usually takes a lot of pressure. I've had pins shoot out like bullets and put a hole in a concrete-block wall.
