Brake band

Post by snoopy » Thu Oct 16, 2008 7:01 pm

I was in my local NAPA auto parts store and there was a brake band from a John Deere crawler on the counter. Asked about it found that a customer had broought it in and had it relined for about 90 dollars. Looked like a real good job to me.

Just thought I would pass this info along!

Gooch Brake and Equipment Co. and Casper Brake and Clutch Co. in Kansas City also relines brake bands, even from crawlers I believe- haven't specifically asked them about older JD crawlers but thought I would mention it for anyone in the KC area thinking about this topic.

It seems to me that there are a lot of brake and clutch shops across the country that should be able to reline brake banks instead of buying new.
