831 loader weight
831 loader weight
Does anybody know weight of JD 831 loader complete?
831 loader
I was curious about the weight of the 831 loader and bucket only, not the weight of the loader with crawler. (for shipping purposes) Thank-you.

crawler & 831 weight
Having hauled a bare crawler and one with a 831 loader on the same trailer, I would guess 4000 lbs for the 831.
From original 1959 Deere Brochures....
Bare crawler, gas, about 6000 lbs. Crawler, gas, with 831 loader, 4 counterweights and scarifier 11,026 lbs.
Crawler with 831 loader and scarifier 11,026 lbs - bare crawler 6,000 lbs gives 5026 lbs for 831 loader, weights, brackets and scarfier.
Counterweights are 200 lbs apiece (x4 =800 lbs) scarfier and arms equivalent to 2 counterweights (400 lbs as Deere says to remove 2 counterweights when equipped with scarifier) and guestimate on brackets (100 lbs) gives a total of 1300 lbs.
Taking 1300 lbs from the total weight of 831 loader and accessories (5026 lbs) gives around 3700 lbs.
Hope this helps,
Walter
