1010 track adjuster question

Post by SmallTime » Mon Oct 24, 2005 3:55 pm

Well finally got the track apart and the adjuster out. Its frozen up good. Wondering how I should get into this thing to clean it and replace the seals. I have all the plugs out and have tried to spin the piston with a large pipe wrench, no luck. Am I going to have to torch out the seal, heat and beat the rest?
Lavoy, I noticed Im also going to need a track roller, looks like #M2233T and bushings and maybe a couple seals #2011T. Are these available and if so what are they running?

Only way I have ever gotten an adjuster apart, it use a grease gun and and push it all the way out. Then scoop out all the old grease, and hone the bore before installing the new leather and seal.
I am really in the hurt bag for rollers right now. I can dig through and see what I have.
Seals are no problem, $12/each, I usually keep 4-6 on hand.

OK, thanks. I can wait on the roller for a while if it'll help, this thing wont be going back together for a little while.
On the adjuster, Ill try to get it apart without destroying it .........worse case scenario, are replacements still to be had and how spendy are they?

Last I heard new ones from Deere are like $750 or more, but I have never checked that for myself. I occasionally have used ones, but many times they are stuck together too. I do have aftermarket ones that do not look like the Deere adjuster, but are perfectly functional, the are around $300 ready to bolt on.
