Pinion gear 14 or 16 tooth

Post by fryguy » Mon Oct 24, 2005 7:50 pm

Folks,

I am in the right side final drive of the old 430C and have a #@*#" damaged pinion gear (14 tooth). Bull gear is OK :D . I am blessed to have a nearly perfect pinion gear that is 16 tooth. I would assume that if I installed this gear in the right side, I would likely have a tendancy to be steering to the left all the time. Am I going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new, used 14 tooth from Lavoy???????

16 tooth will not mesh with a 55 tooth gear, there is just too much difference in the size of the teeth.
I supppose I could sell you a 63 tooth bull gear to go with the 16 tooth pinion. Then it would go in a circle.

Hi Lavoy,

I figured it would be something like that. I'll be calling.
