5-roller Lindeman MC on eBay?

Post by Stan Disbrow » Wed Oct 26, 2005 7:58 am

Hi,

I've never seen an MC like this one before. Looks like a set of Lindeman tracks and frames, which I knew some were made, but this is a 5-roller. It's the first 5-roller MC I've ever seen.

It's out in WY, and I don't have a particular interest in it, but I thought that someone else on the board might. Here's a link:

Oh, and it shows both a blade *and* a loader in one of the shots. This is also the first time I've seen any 2-banger crawler that had the option of swapping a blade for a loader. Interesting. Very Interesting. :)

If someone on the board does get it, post a note. I might like to take a trip to see it one day, just out of curiosity. ;)

Stan,
It has been put together with two sets of trackframes cut and welded together. I know the crawler and the owner.

hi,

Looks like a pretty nice job, at least from the ebay photos. I bet it would get a lot of attention at shows.

That makes sense, though, as I'd not ever heard of a 5-roller Lindeman MC and I figure if they had made such it'd been worth a mention in one of the many JD history books I have on the shelf! ;)

There is a picture of an MC with 4 rollers under it, with Jesse Lindeman standing next to it. The undercarriage is obviously from a 4 roller 40, and the crawler is supposed to have been an experimantal model. This makes sense as at that time, undoubtedly Deere was already experimenting with the 4 roller undercarriage to be introduced on the 40 for 1954.
