rubber pads?
rubber pads?
Any rubber pads available for a 420? I think 38 pads per side but will have to check.
Thanks

Thanks Lavoy-
It is a 4 roller, I guess I counted 31 pads. What is needed to convert? I guess a complete set of chains and sprockets...? Are these JD350 pieces?
This is for my neighbors 420 and he is set on having rubber pads for parades and shows.
I guess 5k for pads alone, plus chains, sprockets, 250 bolts and nuts, and what else?
Is there any problems with keeping rock guards or any other fitment issues?
Also is this the only option to put pads on a 420?
Thanks

It may not be "factory", but could the heavy rubber bumper pads used on loading docks be adapted? I've seen them used on the big steel wheeled old timers for parade/show use. I don't know if they could be bolted right over the regular track or not. Machine the bumper to profile and drill it. It would be a lot of work, but less $$$$$.

You can either run 350 chains, or 1010 chains if you can find a set. 1010 chains would allow you to run the same sprockets. It is possible that the guys that make the pads would punch them for two bolt, I never asked, but it would be worth looking into. I don't remember the company any more, I think there were on the East coast somewhere. They basically were overmolding a standard pad, so it might be possible that they would use and existing used pad, again, I never asked.

Not cheap my any means huh? Well he is just stubborn enough to not care. He has one of the nicest, untouched 420 I have seen. And he wants rubber pads, so...
Lavoy, would we order those those pads through you? I think we would like to talk to the manufacturer about either punching for 2 bolt or selling blanks with no bolt holes.
I am just kind of the middle man here, thanks for all the help.

No, you would get them directly from the manufacturer, unless they will not sell direct, but I think they will. I think I found the guys I talked to a few years ago. Let's see if the link works

In looking at their products, I see they have a bolt to shoe rubber "insert". It would be a lot of drilling, but that might be an option as well.
