What do you all think of making a 12 month calendar for group here? I can create the calendar and I'd need *high quality* pictures from you guys of you and your crawlers along with descriptions (model/serial number, your name, etc). The calendar would be published in a pdf format that you could download and print yourself.
I would need at least 12 people to send in pictures, if not more. Working tractors would be okay, but the cleaner the better. One's with the correct gear for that particular model would be nice as well. Chime in here if you're interested and can produce the images I'd need. Something along the lines of 300dpi digital or scanned photos would be needed for them to print well.

Calender
I would be willing to have my crawler posted on the calender. You can see it on the show & tell section here. I think that is a excellent idea, great way to promote the line. Post your email and the info will be sent.

Anyone who wants to submit pictures (and no, they don't have to be pristine tractors) email them to ttyr2@jd40c.com. I should be able to receive any pictures up to 2MB in size (which is huge for an image) but if you want to send more than one, you might need to do them one at a time.
Feel free to send any high quality pictures you have, "working" tractors are fine as well. We'll weed the entries down assuming we get more than 12

I have decided that I am not going to make an entry. I would like for more of the members to have a chance to have their crawler on the calender.
I urge everyone that is so inclined to submit a picture. I think it will be neater than all get out to have a calender made up of crawlers from members here.

Hi,
2 MB per image is pretty darned small for reproduction at the size I'm thinking of for a calendar: 8x10" size range at 300 dpi.
My 6 MP DSLR images are 18 MB in the Tiff format, which is the file format I'd expect to send to a print shop. In order to get an image down to 2 MB, I'd have to compress quite a bit in the Jpeg format, which I would then not want to use to produce an 8x10" size print.
So, what size print were you thinking of for this calendar? Maybe I'm thinking too large here.
All that said, I don't know if you'd want a shot of my 420. It's still in it's original state. The green paint has faded quite dark, and the yellow has turned white, what little is actually left of it. The machine is straight, though, not all banged up.

Who cares if they are all restored? I think the working models are just as neat as the restored ones, some times more interesting since everyone does a lil something to thiers it seems like. Mine has the home made simulated ROPS on it.. which is not functional or original.. but it gives it unique character.
I'll get some pictures real soon though
Reassembling a final this weekend though since my last semester is over tomorrow. Should be pullin' the head off and poppin' again before long!

If you want to keep this real simple with high quality photos and a real reasonable price check out http://www.kodakgallery.com/CalOverview.jsp
everyone could upload their photos to this sight with photo quality and they do all the print work and binding for less than $20/calendar.
