Any of you that are knowledgeable on 1010s want to give me an idea of where to bid on this 1010?

According to the owner the head is shot, but who knows could be the block too. I am checking with another guy right now that restores 1010 tractors (has 5) for engine parts. Is there any difference in the crawler versus tractor engines?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

One thing I noticed is the owner "purchased this about 2 years ago," Then I notice the date stamp on the pictures is 5/17/01. That is eight years ago. Makes me wonder if these are the current pictures.
I believe you need to ask the seller for more-better pictures of the wearable parts on both sides. Don't be afriad to ask for lots of pictures. If they e-mail them to you, it does not add cost to the seller and it gives you more info than the public.

Re: Another JD1010 on ebay.
I have a 2010, and my understanding for the 1010s/2010s is that the engines for crawlers and tractors are the same, except for color. In fact, I have a green head (ag tractor) on my otherwise yellow industrial blockRick Kr wrote:According to the owner the head is shot, but who knows could be the block too. Obviously diesel has different part numbers than gas, and the serial number range matters for the diesel injector fuel line setup. However the one you are looking at is gas.
You can verify pretty qucikly by looking up the part numbers on the JD parts website and compare them. I have been known to be wrong.
