when putting the final drive back on how do you keep the band for the brake from cocking side ways. the band is adj. as far open as it will open as it will go ,and it is still a pain in a&& any tricks,

Sometimes I start the brake drum in with the band hanging half way out of the housing. Then as you go in, reach down in the clutch housing with a long screwdriver or bar and keep moving the band out on the drum.
