I need dust covers for the steering clutch brake rod
I need dust covers for the steering clutch brake rod
I am trying to locate replacement dust covers for the steering clutch area where the brake rods exit the housing. Mine have totally rotted away and when it rains, water and dirt flow down the rod, through through the opening into the clutch housing and has contributed to the rusting of the steering clutches. I ordered some from John Deere but they are about the size of a flattened tennis ball and they wont fit in the original space. The original ones were accordion style about 1.25inch wide and 3.inches long.

Yeah I bought the John Deere boots too. I couldn't figure out what to do with them. I thought the parts girl had mistaken the order but it looks like you got exactly the same thing. I had an old hydraulic clutch master cylinder boot and I put that in instead.

Thanks these are very helpful suggestions. I will post a part number if I find something that fits really well.
McMaster boot fit great
The boot arrived from McMasters (part number 5298K78) and it fit great. I had to remove a bit of the flang to reduce the extra material where it fastened on the final drive housing, but it fit like it was made for my 420 crawler. Thanks for the help
