Fuel Filter Tips Needed

Post by ptrachte » Thu Oct 01, 2009 10:19 am

Going to do some fall maintenance on my 1010 diesel crawler/loader. Is there any trick to changing the fuel filters without messing up the prime on the pump?

I imagine your 1010 is a lot like my 2010 diesel filter system. I don't believe there is a priming lever- the system to the filters is gravity drain from the tank and there are bolts on the filter head for removing air from the filters. As stated, you can also loosen the banjo bolts at each injector to remove remaining air. I found this to be an important step wihich helped performance even though the engine was running without bleeding them.
