Thanks for the added information, and thanks JD430 for helping to get the pictures posted. Any chance of getting a video on YouTube showing your machine at work? I'm curious as to how it will work on side hills and on frozen inclines. I've taken a few rides and really like the caulks on my grousers, but these rubber tracks look really nice, and since I move my machine with a local flatbed car carrier, the owner will like them too. I suspect that for most of what I do, they could work well. Paul

These rubber tracks are 37 links, but when you figure in that the link to link spacing is smaller than the 420's, they come out to both be the same length. Unless there was tons of adjustment I dont think they would fit the 1010 or 2010.

After looking at what you did, I wish I hadn't bought some tracks!!

I do have a question. What is the track width and how's clearance with the dozer?? From the photo it appears near to the original track size.

They are 12" wide just like the originals.

Tracks

ejb17,

We have a 420 four roller. Do you have any idea what size rubber tracks would fit on a four roller? I really like the idea.

I actually have the 420 at my shop in Buffalo right on the edge of Lake Erie. We had 1 storm a week and change ago but the winds were so strong that nothing piled up at the shop so I wasnt able to take it out and play-I mean work. I will post up when I can try it on the snow.

Wow, I'm impressed. What a clean and well thought out fix for worn out tracks. I have a 420 that would make a good candidate for the rubber track conversion. There is a place in Anchorage that deals in grey market Komatsu's so that might be a close place to find some tracks. I'm just wondering about traction on ice and snow. We have a tracked BobCat at work that is helpless on ice. Thanks.

track put together

Post by bevturnr » Tue Mar 01, 2011 4:18 pm

If anyone can give me any part numbers for how ej17 pulled off this great job I would like to know I am trying to get this done, but everyone that I have spoken with says it can not be done and I have informed them that a gentleman in NY did it, but I need the part numbers that was used so I can relay them back to the dealers.

If anyone can help that would be great. Post or even call at 724 717 8066.

Rubber Tracks

Post by John Roseburg » Wed Mar 02, 2011 12:19 pm

I have read the comments about the rubber tracks on a 420c and wonder if the same would fit on a 5 roller 40c ? I think they look good.
