mc hub fix

Post by Justin » Sun Dec 27, 2009 9:05 pm

I spun my hub on the axel and completly striped the splines on my 49 MC, After pricing parts, most were around 750-800 for the pair. I decided to try fixing it myself. I went to a buddys shop and used his milling machine and installed 3, 7/16 keyways in the hub and the axel, they ended up being about 2 inchs long each. It fits tight so hopefully this will fix it. I think it would take alot to spin these! I only have around 1000 dollers in the old girl, and hate the thought of almost doubling it's value with a used hub and axel lol. This may not be the right way to fix it, but it's the right now way!!
