John Deere 2010 Hydraulic issues

I was getting close on a complete rebuild on a a very tired 2010 dozer. Rebuilt engine (liner plate, pistons, bearings, injection pump, etc), steering clutches, transmission, final drives, track frames, new pins and bushings, rad, the list goes on. Good thing my dad wrecked on of these so only had to buy the engine parts. We didn't get the dozer blade with the machine and could not find enough pieces in the snow today. May have to wait till spring.

Finally got it all back together and the hydraulics are acting very funny. Getting alot of air. Have overfilled the transmission by 5 gallons and still no pressure and air. The only thing i can think of is that the pump is cracked and is sucking air in. I plan on removing the pump thru the bottom of the bell housing next weekend.

Has anyone had this type of issue before? The tranmission was out of a loader machine, but did use the correct front tranmission cover.

When you say the hydraulics are acting funny, do you mean only the transmission or do you also mean the blade hydraulics?

Transmission works fine, pressure guage registers normal almost instantly on start up.

It is just the blade hydraulics. Never seen an issue like this and have very limited experience with 2010's and internal pumps. Much easier to diagnose when there is a separate hydraulic tank and an external pump. I guess this is why they only made the 10 series for a few short years.

It seems like you have an air leak somewere. you should also check your o-rings and seals.
