Changing to deluxe seat on crawler with 3 point hitch

Post by jay563 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 5:38 pm

Will i have any mounting problems taking off the normal crawler seat and putting a deluxe seat on one with a 3 point hitch. Should i just take off frame under the original seat on put this on the deluxe seat. I have one deluxe seat with nothing under it and another one that came off a normal 1010 crawler with no 3 point.

Thanks

I was thinking that I read where the Deluxe Seat was not an option if the factory 3 point was ordered, could be wrong.

Jay.
According to JD sales literature of the time the deluxe seat was not
available as factory equipment with the three point hitch.Lavoy says
he has adapted some so it's possible, just don't look for factory parts
as a strict bolt in.JimAnderson

I figured as much as i could not find any such information on that type of mounting in the parts book, it probably won't be too hard to modify though.

Real easy to do, done it on several. You will need to make some spacers to set the seat up higher. Also, depending on how long your legs are and how far back you want the seat, you can get the toplink to hit the back of the seat. I have seen a couple deluxe seat where they torched the back of the seat out because of this. I just set the stop on the cylinder so the hitch does not come up as high.

While you are "fabbing", you could also build something on the back of the deluxe seat to hold the top link up when not in use.

There actually was a toplink bracket made for the 1010 to hold the toplink. The handle on toplink is different to work with the bracket, but that could be changed as well.
