2010 gas engine rebuild

I have a 2010 gas crawler with 6way that has been a great machine but is now in need of help. The engine is starting to get a little tired and I am going to rebuild. I have done hundreds of rebuilds but for the most part for racing engines.I was wondering if anyone has done one of late and where they found the best parts and if anyone has used a kit and had any recomendations. I would be glad to provide photos as I go along as well as what info I find as I do this if it would be of any intrest to anyone. Let me know the cold weather is finally starting to let up...

There are a little unique in that instead of 4 individual sleeves, the sleeves are soldered into a "deck" and you have to remove all 4 at once.
Couple different ways to go here. You can get a new sleeve deck and pistions, but you are talking about $1800-$2000. The alternative is, if there are no cracks in the sleeve deck, you rebore the deck and put in oversize pistons. If you can get by this way, about $800 for a rebuild kit, not including any head components.

Would you just mag the sleeves and deck to check for cracks or is there something more common that I should be looking for. I had planned on a rebore anyways as it would seem unlikley that the cylinders would be round and unscarred. Are the kits something you sell? and if so what is in them and how do they come 20,30,40 over? or where would you suggest I look...

They normally crack where the sleeve is soldered to the plate. Be very careful when removing the plate so you don't put uneven stress on the deck as you pull it out.
You will have to have the deck in the block to bore it, but I would recommend pulling the deck out first and magging it to make sure it is good. Then you can set it back in the block for boring.
Rebuild kit comes with .045 pistons I believe, no other choice now. Mains and rods normally 10, 20, and 30 under, and a gasket set.
I don't stock them, should be less than a week lead time if you want one.

Last Year When I Checked There Were NO Oversize Pistions Aval. But They Had The .045 Over Ring Sets...
