JD 1010 Dozer steering question

Post by MIkeinAlabama » Thu Jan 19, 2006 8:24 pm

I have a JD 1010 Dozer. The machine works well and turns great to the left, which is makes sense since I replaced the steering clutch last winter.

My question is the right clutch does not work well at all to turn when the dozer is moving forward. However in reverse the right clutch turns the dozer on a dime. Why such a difference based on direction the dozer is moving?

Thanks
Mike

The brakes seem to work a little better in reverse when bad, son't know the reason. I would look in the adjustment hole and see if there is gear lube in there.
