Need alittle help here! I was putting my steering clutch together today on my 440 and after the assembly i hardly have any room on the clutch fingers to set them. Is this normal?

Room where? Do you meant the bolts seem too long or too short?

I can only move the adjusting bolt about 3 turns either way. Doesnt seem to give me enough height on the finger for proper adjustment. Everything is new. Do i need to worry about even adjusting the fingers with a new pressure plate and clutch disks?

Pressure plate fingers always need to be adjusted any time the clutch is disassembled and/or parts replaced. Not to say that people don't do it and get by, but it should be done.
Still not sure what you mean by the bolt does not give you enough adjustment.
